Dummy Face

I never wanted Finn to have a dummy. I hate the sight of kids walking around with them in their mouths and I could foresee difficulties when the time came to give it up. However, during one of those bouts of unexplained crying that occurs in the first few weeks one of us put a dummy in his mouth, it settled him down and he’s used them ever since for sleeping and moments of extreme distress. I’m hoping that the 2 dummies currently in use will be his last, but I’ve been hoping that for a while.
I would also rather that Leila doesn’t use a dummy, but I will have a couple on hand, sterilised and ready to go, just in case. If she does end up being a dummy faced bub the same rules will apply to her as have to Finn - only for going to sleep and for times when she’s extremely upset. I may be a foolish optimist, but I also hope that the example of a by then (touch wood) dummyless big brother will lead her to give up the habit nice and early.
